Day 18

After a very wet day on the road yesterday, a few pints were called for last night.... I find myself sitting in Healy Macs reading this sign over several times.....

Only in Ireland, could the award for the best Irish pub in the world (outside of Ireland) go to a pub in Ireland ! I hope you are following that.....there's a test at the end LOL.

Whilst chuckling at the pub sign, I found myself watching the news & weather on RTE, listening to the Amber weather warning for torrential rain, storm force winds, & potential flooding in the area I am supposed to the driving tomorrow.  The land mass you can just make out under the huge swathe of rain in the graphic is Ireland !

So, rather than spend the day in driving rain, trying to get good shots of wonderful scenery in the rain (for a 2nd day) I decide to change tings round a bit.... I hit the main road, head for Galway.  The weather is going to get much better tomorrow, so I've decided to have today in Galway, see a bit of the town, then work my way back north on the Wild Atlantic Way to were I left it, then take the main road back to Galway to rejoin the route south, in effect giving myself two bites of the cherry in Galway, as I've heard it's so good.

On my way down, there is a brief rest-bight in the rain, I turn off to visit Ballintuber Abbey, an absolutely stunning building, in wonderful grounds, with a fair bit of history about the place too...

I hit the outskirts of Galway around 1 O'clock, feeling peckish I remember I was given a lunch recommendation by "THE BULL" for a place about 10 minutes out of Galway, a quick look through my notes, found it !
